Main concept:
Utilizing translucency of material and various surface/opening rotations to create a space that viewers can walk in and see fragments of light and surrounding environments in different perspectives.
Material:
Mylar or similar materials with white color and degrees of translucency.
Formal:
Eye-shaped sine curve allows seamless mapping across the entire base geometry.
Structural:
A chance of the combination of rigid frames and flexible surface pattern.
Scale:
Not for walking around, but in.
Parametric logic:
Morph surface + Surface ribbon
Laser cutting mock-ups:
Dimension of each module:
With the bed size limitation of laser cutters at Pratt 18”x32”, a full sheet can be divided into eight 8”x9” components.
