progress towards a luminaire


first successful use of a controlling outer form (sphere)/ getting odd warps in geometry, the nurbs curve I’m using to surf btwn the surface curves + projected circles (outermost point on spikes) causing some of the spikes to twist (easier to see in the smaller perspective image/ top view looks PERFECT)


using same techniques as last version, generated (3) nurbs curves & tried to edgeSurf them.

3rd try- made a copy of the outermost-spike-circle and moved it about 1/3 the way to the base curve, lofting through 3 curves total>turns the resultant loft from a straight line into the curve I wanted (more blow-fish like), less deformation all around.
