Project II: Parametric Equation Development.

Here is a process to follow for my first attempt at creating a desired parametric module for my design:

  1. Setting up point structure to create a hexagon. Hexagons are made up of 6 equilateral triangles. Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.31.30 PM
  2. Assigning start and end points to connect to one another and for 6 individual lines.Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.31.53 PM
  3. Taking the six individual lines and connecting them to form one individual poly line and extruding in the Y direction.Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.32.36 PM 1
  4. Capping the extruded surface where there are holes.Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.32.58 PM
  5. Offsetting the geometry inward (negatively) on one of the capped surfaces.Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.34.58 PM
  6. Moving the new offset geometry and lofting it within the larger extruded hexagon shape. Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.36.47 PM
  7. Assigning the three dimensional surfaces of the outer extruded hexagon and the lofted inner hexagon to both be BREP. Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.37.45 PM
  8. Using Solid Difference to create a void center where the lofted inner geometry was once located. Screen Shot 2016-06-16 at 1.38.42 PM
